On May 9, 2016, Professor Mariko Watanabe of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Hirosaki University, gave us a lecture entitled “Learning in a Seminar (Group)”.

　Prof. Watanabe specializes in Japanese classical literature. She talked about the points she keeps in mind when she holds seminars (group learning classes). For example, students have to raise their hands and ask questions more than three times, and she encourages students to learn with friends and make a creative atmosphere in a group.
